The GSI Career Path
At GSI Commerce, we want to construct an exciting workplace and support our employees by providing professional development, career coaching and opportunities for professional progression. We would like to introduce you to some of the employees who have real life experience of GSI’s approach:
Craig McCann
Business Analyst (Specialising in Payments and Fraud)
Barcelona Office
Craig joined the company on September 2004 as an Analyst/Programmer. On September 2005, he was promoted to Senior Analyst/Programmer, specialising in Payments and Fraud. On February 2007, he became a Business Analyst, again specialising in Payments and Fraud. Craig leads a team of three Analyst/Developers and works with Project Delivery, Sales, Partner Support, and Business Management. His approach to work is “working 110% is the best way to spend your day! You have to love your job and be passionate about it”. His personal work philosophy is: “Help anyone who needs it, learn as many new things in a day that you possibly can. Spread your knowledge, trust your colleagues and realise that if you give your all, there is not much more anyone can ask of you”. Approaching work in this way, Craig finds he has nothing to fear, nothing to worry about and truly enjoys himself at work. Craig believes that “with GSI’s new plans for expanding globally, there will be an endless battle to fight with fraudsters. As soon as one door is closed to them, they frantically start to look for new gaps.”
Kath Watson
Operations Manager
Manchester Office
Kath joined the company in 1989 as a Warehouse Operative in the packing department. From 1991 to 1998, she was promoted to Team Trainer, then Assistant Team Leader, and finally to Team Leader. She worked in various warehousing departments within the business, gaining knowledge of how the business operated from start to end. In 1998, Kath worked alongside her first client, New Look, where she had daily contact with the client and the office staff and had to work mostly on her own initiative. After further experience with a variety of clients, Kath was promoted to Process Leader. In 2007, she became Warehouse Planning Manager then in May 2008, Warehouse Operations Manager. Kath strongly believes that “in all my years working here I have enjoyed every role that I have done as I have gained valuable experience of our business, but most of all I take pleasure in the fact that the staff are committed and we have a very good team ethic. No two days are the same at GSI and every day has a new set of challenges and this keeps me motivated. I look forward to the next 20 years working for GSI Commerce!”
